Pottery Classes

CLASSES

I run weekly classes for adults from beginners upwards. The classes are a mix of learning hand-building techniques and  throwing pots on the wheel so if you are undecided which type of pottery making suits you my sessions are perfect for you!

Working with clay is enjoyable, creative and most of all a huge mood boost! Leave your worries at the door and just enjoy the fun and friendly evenings making things whether they be useful or something from the deepest depths of your imagination. Don’t worry if you haven’t unlocked your creativity yet there are plenty of ideas to hand and I’m sure the clay will start to talk to you when you come to group .

Classes are limited to 8 max due to space limitations

Courses usually run for 5 weeks and cost £140 pp which includes materials

Payment is required to secure your place and is non-refundable within 2 weeks of the start date unless I  can fill your place .

Please do make sure you can attend all classes before you book as I am unable to refund or guarantee an alternative day to catch up for classes you subsequently find you can’t make.

INDIVIDUAL LESSONS OR PRIVATE GROUPS

Individual lessons or a private group or party can be arranged and tailored around your requirements.

Some general prices below but please get in contact if you have something specific in mind and want a quote. I try to be pretty flexible.

Party/Group Workshop:  Adult

2 or 3 hour handbuilding session

 Choose a project or have an general introduction to pottery techniques and let your creativity develop during the session. You will learn how to produce pieces using slabbing, coiling or pinching methods plus decorate your pottery with coloured slips and glazes. Once finished your finished pottery piece(s) will be allowed to dry for a couple of weeks to ensure they are fully kiln ready then fired twice to give a superb gloss finish.

PRICES

 2HR: 2 people £120 , 4 people £220 6 people £ 300 or 8 people £350

3HR: 2 people £170, 4 people £320, 6 people £ 420, 8 people £495

3 Hours Handbuilding & introduction to throwing 

Choose to have a longer session and include a go throwing a pot on a wheel too!

At the end of one of the session you should have proudly made a thrown pot that may be a bowl or mug, some simple but unique handbuilding projects and decorated your pieces with slips and glazes ready to be fired.

Cost: 2 people £170 , 4 people £320, 6 people £420

Wheel lessons

 £35 ppph  An additional hour can be added at £25 pp at the time of booking

Learn to throw pottery shapes on a wheel. complete beginners welcome. Lessons include instruction only and any pots that you would like to keep can be clear glazed and fired for £5

*Please note if you are new to throwing then the first lesson will be booked for a 2hr session to allow demonstration time and taking things nice and slow to start with.

Cost for the 2hr  initial  lesson £60

Lessons and workshops are available to be be booked during normal studio hours of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 10-3pm

Saturday/Weekend bookings are available once a month only so I do get booked quite far ahead .

I am able to do the occasional evening when there is a break from weekly classes but again this can be booked up quite far in advance.
